Reflecting on 2025: A Year of Impact, Partnership & Community Giving

This article was submitted by the 3Rivers Community Team.

As we wrap up 2025, we’re proud to look back on a year filled with meaningful connections, shared experiences, and impactful community involvement. Supporting the people and places we serve is at the heart of who we are, and this year gave us countless opportunities to show up, lend a hand, and make a difference.

From financial support and volunteerism to education and in-kind outreach, our commitment to community partnership remained stronger than ever.

Supporting Local Events

In 2025, we sponsored and participated in a wide variety of community events across our region. We’re proud to have supported organizations and initiatives that make meaningful contributions to the places we call home.

Across northeast Indiana, we partnered with hyper-local and regional organizations committed to strengthening the community. Events hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana, Latinos Count Inc., and the Fort Wayne Zoo gave our team members opportunities to engage with and support meaningful causes. We sponsored fundraisers benefiting the AppleTree Center, Cass Housing, Fort Wayne Youtheatre, and many others. As strong supporters of local sports, we also proudly continued our partnerships with the Fort Wayne Komets and TinCaps.

One of our favorite weekends in East Central Indiana was the Richmond Meltdown Festival, a multi-day event held in late January where talented ice sculptors crafted impressive works of art, competed in ice battles, and showcased their skills for audiences of all ages. Throughout the year, we continued to support organizations including Minnetrista Museum & Gardens, Nettle Creek Lions Club, Wayne County Chamber, Richmond Art Museum, and Amigos, the Richmond Latino Center.

Supporting community events aligns naturally with our commitment to education and overall wellness. We partnered with BBB Serving Northern Indiana to host free community shred days, worked with the Red Cross to organize internal blood drives, and engaged with local schools and workplaces to deliver free financial education on budgeting, credit, fraud prevention, home buying, and more, helping equip our communities with the tools they need to thrive personally and financially.

Volunteering Our Time

In addition to financial support, our nearly 500 team members dedicated tremendous time and talent to volunteerism throughout 2025. Every year, we host a company-wide Give Back Day and provide each team member with two paid volunteer days to support the causes closest to their hearts. Once again, our team went above and beyond, volunteering over 5,000 hours to the communities we serve.

During this year’s Give Back Day—held while our branches closed for Columbus Day—over 350 team members volunteered at more than 30 non-profits across the communities we serve. From cleaning up local parks , to building homes with Habitat for Humanity, to landscaping at the Richmond Rose Garden, to organizing donations at local resource centers, our team rolled up their sleeves and made a meaningful difference.

Beyond Give Back Day, many of our team members continued their involvement through long-term commitments. They served on Boards, committees, taught regular Junior Achievement classes, participated in United Way’s Day of Caring, helped feed the hungry all  year long at Community Harvest Food Bank, and proudly represented 3Rivers in community parades and festivals, including the Kendallville Lantern Parade, Bluffton Street Fair, Out of Darkness Community Walks, Angola Balloons Aloft, and St. Mary’s Summerfest.

We remain dedicated to developing community-minded leaders. In 2025, we completed the sixth class of our Community LEADERS program, which equips participants to serve effectively as community trustees. Graduates are now serving on non-profit Boards and committees across our footprint, including JA of Dekalb Co., Heart of Hagerstown, Kate’s Kart,   YMCA Camp Potawotami, and more!

Donating Our Dollars

In 2025, the 3Rivers Credit Union Foundation—focused on financial wellness, education, and health & wellness—invested $271,500 into non-profit programming across 97 organizations.

This year’s support reached a wide variety of community partners, including Kate’s Kart, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie, Healthier Moms and Babies, Family Centered Services, Birth to Five, Friends of St. Marys Theater and Grand Opera House, Amigos, and many others.

Since its founding in 2015, the Foundation has invested more than $2 million into hundreds of non-profits—an accomplishment we’re honored to celebrate.

We also continued our corporate partnerships with organizations such as the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County and Fort Wayne, and the Richmond Art Museum.

Our team members showed a strong commitment to community involvement through their support of United Way. During our annual United Way Campaign, employees across the organization came together to make meaningful contributions, reinforced by organizational support for regional United Way partners. In recognition of this collective commitment, 3Rivers was honored in 2025 with the Outstanding Workplace Campaign Award for a Large Employer.

As we look back on 2025, we celebrate everyone who works hard to make a difference in our communities. Every year, we’re inspired by the non-profit organizations, community partners, local leaders, and team members who devote their time, talents, and resources to causes that matter.

We’re honored to live out the credit union philosophy of people helping people, and we look forward to making an even greater impact in 2026.
